Stan is a refugee from a country under a dictatorial regime, and his citizenship has been taken away. He is looking for a way to continue his life as a refugee in Europe, but since he no longer has any citizenship, this turns out to be an impossible task. In a refugee detention center in Bulgaria, he becomes close with three people — Zvezdichka, Ahmed, and Option — and together they decide to found their own country at sea on an abandoned platform. Upon arriving at the platform, they discover that Joanna already lives there; she has escaped the material world around us in search of a way to continue her life.
