“I, the One Who Loves You” is a captivating solo performance based on an idea by and starring Darin Angelov, who transforms an extraordinary love story into a powerful theatrical experience. Written by Yana Borisova and directed by Dimitar Kotsev – Shosho, the performance tells the story of a young man who assumes another person’s identity during wartime in order to survive—and, within this seeming fiction, unwittingly discovers true love.
Blending humor, tenderness, and painful honesty, “I, the One Who Loves You” takes the audience into a world where the boundaries between truth and imagination blur, revealing a deeply human story about fear, loneliness, and the need to be loved. It is a performance that both makes you laugh and moves you, reminding us that sometimes love is the bravest way to stay alive.
