Singing Birds

The musical-poetic performance is created based on texts from Vladislav Khristov’s recently awarded national poetry prize-winning book Singing Birds and his new poetry collection Cape Maslen Nos.

This format uses the actors and the musical-visual imagery to provoke the audience’s senses and to raise questions about the meaning of the concepts of evolution, civilization, power, war, sacrifice, ancestral memory, humility, and time.

Will the model of the modern world, governed by the neurosis of power, destroy what is spiritual in human beings, or will it give them a chance to step out of the trench of everyday life and look up at the sky and the birds!?

Every now and then a bomb goes off The blackbird lifts its tail to show solidarity with human affairs One raised tail Nothing more… …Then came whole flocks of enormous birds with muddy beaks and feet The sea looked like a plowed field Let us be understanding… we told ourselves And we began to live with the crows
