“Red Speedo” by Lucas Hnath is a play that explores themes of ambition, success, and the pressure modern society places on the individual to be the best.

The action unfolds in a setting tied to professional sport — a swimming pool — where a young athlete is on the verge of the greatest achievement of his career, namely qualifying for the Olympic Games. At that moment, however, doubt emerges, calling into question not only his future but also the way success is achieved.
