Reasons to Be Happy KTF Todor Kolev
The performance is part of the program of the Comedy Festival “Todor Kolev” 2026, which will take place from 26 to 30 June in the city of Shumen.
“Reasons to Be Happy” is a contemporary play by Neil LaBute, at once romantic, painfully realistic, and wonderfully funny — a story about second chances, about the choice to stay or to leave, and about those small reasons that lead us toward our own happiness.
27 JUNE | 7:30 PM | DKT "VASIL DRUMEV" / MAIN STAGE
With plenty of humor, sharp and honest dialogue, and an unvarnished look at human weakness, the play raises key questions: How much are we willing to forgive? What is true intimacy? And can a person be happy when they do not know themselves?
At the center of the plot is a couple who has broken up but has not yet extinguished their feelings. When the former partners meet again, they confront all those unspoken truths, small hurts, and big hopes that continue to bind them together — or push them against one another. At the same time, their best friends find themselves entangled in their own web of desires, jealousy, and uncertainty.
