One of the most beloved Bulgarian film stories comes to life on the theatre stage for the very first time.

Dangerous Charm is a stage adaptation inspired by the cult film starring Todor Kolev, which has become a classic of Bulgarian cinema. With plenty of humor, energy, and unexpected twists, the production introduces us to the charming swindler Gencho Gunchev — a man with dozens of identities, countless stories, and an uncanny ability to win the trust of everyone he meets.

Charismatic, resourceful, and elusive, known by many names such as “Yastrebovski,” “Orelski,” “Sokolov,” and others, he passes through a series of transformations while a whirlwind of comic situations, amusing misunderstandings, and witty encounters unfolds around him.

But beyond the laughter, the performance also raises an eternal question: what makes a person truly valuable — the image they present, or the personality they hide?

Director Nikolay Gunderov creates a stage version that preserves the spirit of the beloved classic while bringing it to today’s audience through a fresh theatrical language, striking visuals, and a brilliant ensemble cast.
