The production does not recreate the film; instead, it is built on the elegant prose and penetrating humor of Svoboda Buchvarova, transforming them into the “hidden cuckoo” that must awaken us from our own illusions.
Through the dial of the theatrical stage, we can synchronize our own time with that of the characters and hear questions postponed for far too long. The comedy turns the hands of our inner clock toward the time in which we live.
Humor acts like an X-ray—it reveals the fears we conceal, as well as those impossible to swallow.
This comedy does not attempt to step into the shoes of the legendary film actors, but to walk in its own footsteps across a bridge connecting a bygone era with the present day. It asks questions that sound especially sharp today—including why the victim continues to feel guilt, and even gratitude, toward the swindler.
The performance is a cascade of humor, comic twists, clowning, and situational comedy—all concealing one serious question: why do we continue to trust those who deceive us most elegantly? The action is so dynamic that if you stop to catch your breath, it is only to hear a new lie to believe.
