“Yavorov’s Window” opens onto a bohemian and rapidly developing Sofia. Life in the capital is dynamic, cosmopolitan, and brimming with the experience of many first discoveries. Amid the proliferation of social novelties, a remarkable love between the greatest poet and the most beautiful woman from high society is on its way to becoming a legend.

The performance is a fragmentary journey through the history of the ill-fated love between Peyo Yavorov and Lora Karavelova. The couple’s intensely emotional world is presented through dance theatre and collage, while poetry and music intertwine in a confession sung live.

The mirage of the Other begins to dissipate. Yet the longing for them is irresistible, creating extraordinary images on the borderline between tragedy and comedy. Real events intertwine with dreams and nightmares. When the Other dissolves into the invisible world, their longed-for face once again emerges from the mist of memory.
