What does “stand-up” mean in Bulgarian?

Simply put: one person walks on stage with a microphone in front of an audience. They talk — the audience laughs.

Back in the day, people used to do all this at neighborhood gatherings. If we follow a literal translation from English, we could call our version “standing spot”. Nicely cleaned up like that, we can now invite you: “Come to the standing spot.”

The standing spot will be hosted by Dimitur Donski and Zho. Donski went all the way to the USA just to come back and tour with standing spots here — in more than 20 cities every year. Meanwhile, Zho stayed in Meden Rudnik, but with a mission: to soak up every drop of modern Bulgarian everyday life and culture and turn it into comedic diamonds.

The two of them have devoted their lives to the noble calling of embarrassing themselves in public for your enjoyment — so that together we can forget the horrors life serves us every day, or look them straight in the eye and laugh at them like idiots on a dragon.

In the show “You’ll Offend Me”, Donski and Zho will talk about everything we live through, everything that scares us, and everything we’re ashamed of, and you’ll be rolling on the floor laughing. No holding back, no filter, no common sense.

Come dance with freedom of speech, treat it to a few drinks, and take it home so we can enjoy it to the fullest. If you don’t come, you’ll offend them.
