Ephraim Kishon, a classic of Israeli humor, masterfully explores the themes of bureaucracy, family values, and the clash between tradition and reality. At first glance, the story of searching for a lost marriage certificate seems entirely Israeli, but in fact it is universal and understandable to everyone.

The main characters are a not-so-young married couple — former kibbutz members who have treated the formalities of their marriage lightly. Now their daughter’s fiancé, a man of strict principles, insists on proof that their union is legally valid.

The bewildered parents set off on a tangled journey filled with comic situations, memories, disappointments, and the discovery of true feelings. Quarrels, nostalgia, unexpected twists, and a touching reconciliation — all this makes the play not only funny, but deeply human as well.

Audiences can expect a light, dynamic, and intelligent comedy in which, behind the laughter, lies a reflection on life, love, and what matters more — documents or sincere feelings.
