“Balkan Syndrome” is a performance about the final stage of Bulgaria’s journey toward the new and better world. It pokes fun at yet another one of our chaotic messes, but is also a declaration of love for the drama of the ordinary person—the eternal victim of an endless social experiment.
Stanislav Stratiev asks the truly important questions facing our nation:

- Why are we the way we are...
- Where are we going...
- Will we endure...
Because he loves—and until the very end believes in—the strong, stubborn, indestructible and hardy tribe that crossed the Danube, holding on to the tails of its little horses.
