Carmen - Skopje Drama Theatre

“Carmen” is a monodrama by the extraordinary actress from North Macedonia, Biljana Dragicević-Projkovska. It has won the award for Best Actor at the Monodrama Festival in Bitola; the “Actor of Europe” first prize at the International Theatre Festival in Resen; and awards for Best Actor, Best Performance, and Best Director at the “Macedonian Cultural Summer” festival in Albania.

The novel Five Hours with Mario by Miguel Delibes, included in the list of the hundred best novels of the 20th century, is the basis for the production Carmen—a one-woman show by actress Biljana Dragicević-Projkovska—which will be part of the first international theatre festival, “Autumn Theatre Days in Ruse.” The play was directed and its text dramatized by Dejan Projkovski, one of the leading theatre directors in North Macedonia and Europe, who completed his education in Bulgaria under Prof. Krasimir Spasov. Dejan Projkovski is the recipient of numerous theatre awards and has worked on stages in Serbia, Bulgaria, Russia, Croatia, Turkey, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Germany, Italy, and elsewhere.
