“Good Lord, how this supposedly rational human race is nothing but folly and mistakes!” 🤦‍♂️ That is what Shakespeare said somewhere toward the end of the 16th century. Some seventy years later, the first edition of Jean de La Fontaine’s fables was published, naturally mocking—in poetic and biting language—the very same follies, mistakes, vices, and weaknesses that all of us possess to a greater or lesser extent. 📚

His fables span everything from instructive stories for children to allegorical tales and political satire. They sound particularly relevant even today, when, increasingly busy pointing out the speck in someone else’s eye, we forget about the beam in our own. 👀

Of course, we will present all this with plenty of humor 😂 in an engaging and artistic performance suitable for both young and old. 🎭
