Гръм и Тряс A tragicomedy staged for the first time on the Bulgarian stage.
Based on a Catalan text, in translation by Neva Micheva, the performance takes us to an apparently unlikely place for drama: a bakery.
About the performance
At the center of the action is the charismatic and provocative baker Toni Roca, around whom three complete strangers gather. They come to knead bread, but it gradually becomes clear that they are drawn into a process that goes far beyond the culinary.
As the dough rises, fears, desires, and hidden motives begin to surface between them. Kneading bread becomes a metaphor for the human need for meaning, belonging, and faith — in authority, in method, in the other.
What begins as an everyday conversation slowly reveals the cracks beneath the surface, until the truths come to light. The finale brings together the characters’ illusions and disappointments, leaving the audience alone with the feeling that nothing happens by chance — even when we think we are simply making bread.
