The Bunker in Lozenets District – Visit
We invite you to a special event dedicated to urban planning and architectural heritage, which will take place on October 3 at 11:00 a.m. Our guest will be the distinguished German expert architect Manfred Kühne, who will visit the bunker in the Lozenets neighborhood. Architect Manfred Kühne studied architecture in Kaiserslautern and Berlin. In 1991, he passed the state examination for the higher technical administrative service in public construction at the Senate Department for Construction and Housing Policy of Berlin.
He worked as an independent urban planner (1991–1995), followed by a position with the planning organization of Berlin’s Senate Building Director (Senatsbaudirektor) (1995–1997). He then headed the municipal urban planning department of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund (1997–2001).
From 2001 to 2008, he headed the Higher Authority for the Protection of Immovable Cultural Heritage within Berlin’s Senate Department for Urban Development.
From 2008 until his retirement in December 2024, he headed the Urban Planning and Projects Division of Berlin’s Senate Department for Urban Development, Construction and Housing Policy. This is one of the highest-level professional leadership positions in the administration of the German capital, comparable in significance and city-wide responsibilities to the position of chief architect.
