Yasen and Omaya
Kуклен театър – Русе “Yasen and Omaya” is a theatrical production that will transport audiences to a magical world filled with enchantment, adventure, and wondrous creatures.
The story follows Yasen—a young and handsome prince in search of his destined love: the unborn maiden Omaya, fashioned from rain and wind, who lives with the Sun. And this is where the similarities with the popular folk tale end.
Along the young prince’s journey, he will encounter various strange creatures from Bulgarian mythology and folklore—the hala, the karakondzhul, the dog-headed man, and Yavina—who will either help him or hinder him in his quest.
Will he overcome the dangers and temptations along the way and will Prince Yasen find his Omaya? Of course he will! Because love is powerful and boundless. It can overcome every obstacle—even hatred, even death.
A production that will leave us breathless and inspire reflection on our desires, values, and the choices we make. A performance that seeks to leave a little light in your souls and fill you with hope.
“Yasen and Omaya” by Petya Miladinova is a contemporary story interwoven with fantastical images, symbols, and metaphors that explore the themes of love, destiny, evil, self-sacrifice, and human will. Drawing on elements of Bulgarian folklore and mythology, it creates its own poetic world in which the real and the unreal intertwine.

The production is intended for adult audiences and children aged 7 and over who love stories and magic.
