Aladdin and the Magic Lamp
Inspired by the golden pages of One Thousand and One Nights, this production by the Ruse Puppet Theatre tells the timeless tale of an ordinary boy who sets out on the path to maturity. Aladdin—clever, naïve, and susceptible to temptation—finds himself drawn into a dangerous game with a powerful sorcerer and a mysterious lamp that awakens not only dreams of wealth and power, but also questions about choice, responsibility, and love.
The musical brings together original music and live singing, contemporary choreography, striking set design, and life-size puppets to transport audiences to a world of wonders, where flying carpets, genies, and princesses coexist with human weaknesses and hopes. Behind the spectacular form lies a profound story about the temptations of the easy path, trust, and the power of inner transformation.
Aladdin and the Magic Lamp is the largest-scale project in the theatre’s history—a collaboration by a team of artists from several generations, produced with the financial support of the National Culture Fund.
