About the mischievous little rabbit Peter, who disobeyed his mother and, instead of going blackberry picking with his brothers and sisters, went into Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden to eat lettuce.

Unfortunately, the owner soon found out—but fortunately, he never managed to catch him. Frightened, the little rabbit returned home, determined never again to enter that terrible garden, among those terribly delicious lettuces, or come anywhere near that terribly frightening Mr. McGregor.

And one more thing—he would listen to his old mother Rabbit from then on.
