About the Author

Andri Snær Magnason is one of Iceland’s most recognizable contemporary authors and documentarians. He is a writer who knows how to transform the major issues of our time into stories with a human pulse. He writes poetry, fiction and nonfiction, as well as science fiction, and his works have been published and performed in more than 40 languages.

He has received Iceland’s literary awards in every category, as well as prestigious international distinctions. Magnason is also an active advocate for Iceland’s natural environment and a powerful voice in the conversation about climate change and its accelerating impact on the world. In 2019, his eulogy for Okjökull—the first Icelandic glacier to disappear because of the climate crisis—was shared by millions of people around the world.

His only work translated into Bulgarian is The Story of the Blue Planet (translated by Aigir Sverisson), published by Ergon in 2017.
