Zorro - A Musical
State Opera Ruse together with Zorro USA LLC present the premiere of the musical "Zorro", with music by Gipsy Kings and John Cameron.
Executive Producer: John Hertz
More than 200 years ago, the legend of Zorro was born on the shores of California. On the edge between the mystical and the real, between love and suffering, between the righteous anger of the people and the oppression of dictatorship, the story of Zorro juggles with life and death, as if only God could truly hold sway over them. The captivating hero behind the mask appears wherever there is a struggle for a dignified life, but also room for longed-for love. With a single purpose — to awaken minds, hearts, and hopes for a happy and shared future.
The musical "Zorro" is an inspiring adventure in which the timeless story of the hero comes alive on stage to the sounds of the most popular songs by the virtuosos of Catalan blood, Gipsy Kings. The production has been staged in a number of major world capitals and has five nominations for the Laurence Olivier Award.
The team bringing the musical to the Ruse stage is young, yet has impressive experience in creating spectacular and thrilling productions. The director is Ivaylo Nenov, and the conductor is Dimitar Kosev. The role of Zorro is played by Vladimir Zombori — one of the most beloved and popular young artists, who has proven his mastery in musical and stage transformations.
Swept up in a whirlwind of flamenco rhythms, unforgettable voices, masterful fencing, and even a little magic, you will enjoy a true feast for the senses.
