Champagne, Waltz and Csárdás

🥂 CHAMPAGNE, WALTZ AND CSÁRDÁS

Some music never grows old. Melodies we recognize from the very first bars, and rhythms that carry us away to the enchanting world of the Viennese waltz and operetta.

On November 5, the Shumen Symphony Orchestra invites you to a festive musical evening featuring popular arias and duets from the operettas of Lehár and Kálmán, as well as Strauss’s unforgettable waltzes and polkas.

Three distinguished musicians, whose artistic paths are closely connected with the world of opera, will take the stage.

🎼 Vladimir Boshnakov – conductor

With extensive experience on Bulgarian and European stages, Vladimir Boshnakov has conducted numerous opera and symphonic productions at home and abroad. He has worked with renowned musicians such as Vasko Vassilev, Svetlin Rusev and Teodosii Spassov, and since 2014 has toured with opera productions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. He is currently artistic director of the “Stage of the Centuries” festival, conductor at the state opera houses in Stara Zagora and Ruse, and a lecturer at the “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Academy of Music.

🎶 Rusalina Mochukova – soprano

With an impressive stage career and a diverse operatic repertoire, Rusalina Mochukova made her debut at just 20 years of age at the National Opera and Ballet, performing the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She studied under the world-renowned Mirella Freni in Italy, from whom she also received the “Nikolay Gyaurov” scholarship. She has won international awards and, since 2011, has been a member of the State Opera – Stara Zagora company.

🎶 Stoyan Buyukliev – tenor

Since January 2026, he has been a soloist with the State Opera – Stara Zagora. His repertoire includes leading roles in operas, operettas and musicals, including Edwin and Boni in The Csárdás Princess and Count Tassilo in Countess Maritza. He has won first prizes at the “Parashkev Hadzhiev” and “Franz Schubert” competitions, as well as the “Georgi Deliganеv” award for the most outstanding artistic performance.
