The Cherry Orchard

Passionate, melancholic, ironic – such is Chekhov's world. Working on his plays is always a nostalgic journey back to our radiant childhood and our naive dreams of brighter days, of more elevated feelings, of greater hearts… We set out on the path young, unwavering and ardent, then come the great responsibilities and gradually we part with our illusions. Until one day we realize that the only way to overcome pain is to accept it and embrace it tenderly.

"The Cherry Orchard" is a performance about longing for childhood as the only path to making sense of the present. It is a playful wink at inevitable growing up, saturated with much humor, dramatic conflicts, impossible loves and painful reckonings.
