This humorous performance, with its caricature-like visual style, brings to mind the drawings from Wilhelm Busch’s book. Its embellished and amplified pranks evoke the days when children played outside rather than in front of computers.
Comical and entertaining, it quickly wins over the audience and leaves young viewers wanting to have fun, just as their parents once did. Naturally, it also carries a moral lesson: it is fine to be naughty, but everything must be done in moderation, and moderation itself must be handled with great care.
The story of Max and Moritz presents the amusing, countless pranks of the two “hooligans” in verse.
