The performance "Quartet for Two" is a brilliant, incisive, and deeply moving cross-section of human relationships — of the bond between man and woman, and of the many variations of love.

No one will remain indifferent to this richly humorous text by the Ukrainian master Anatoly Krim, at the center of which stands the composer Yevgeny Alexandrovich. The day of his sixtieth anniversary turns out to be the great culmination not only of his creative life, but also of his emotional world.

The duet — a married couple with 25 years of domestic tolerance — gradually grows into a trio when the man brings his mistress into their home to live there in parallel. It then turns into a quartet with the sudden appearance of the wife's lover.

From a comedy of the type “Darling, I’ve fallen in love with another woman, but... I have absolutely no intention of moving out of the apartment,” through a series of comic situations and the wife’s relatively clever acts of revenge, to a tragicomedy in the finale — everyone ends up trapped in their own snare, because “25 years of life, even when the emotion is different, cannot be torn away like a page from a calendar.”
