The end of a court case. Twelve jurors are gathered in a small, stifling room to decide the fate of the defendant—an 18-year-old boy accused of the gravest crime: premeditated murder. Everyone is convinced of his guilt. Everyone, except one. One life has been taken. Another is at stake. Will the jurors be able to decide impartially whether he is guilty or innocent? Will they be able to set aside their own prejudices? Their own past? If they all vote “guilty,” the punishment is the same: life imprisonment.
