The Cannes Film Festival is the most glittering of all possible reasons to celebrate. In the late afternoon, just a few hours before the triumphant premiere of her latest film, the lifeless body of the last true diva of the world cinema scene — Grace Gervais — is discovered on the terrace of a luxury hotel.

The company of suspected killers is strikingly colorful and even amusing: an extravagant actor, a jealous impresario, a voluptuous blonde, and a novice thief. Each of them has their own version of events, and each is ready to rewrite the chronology of what happened at a moment’s notice, just to get their hands on the murdered star’s diamonds.

Only the hotel manager — Monsieur Bonifas, an unproven descendant of Hercule Poirot — is capable of uncovering the truth amid the thickening fog of delusions, clumsy lies, and lustful thoughts.
