LAND OF STORKS

The performance Land of Storks is a production that warns and speaks openly about the causes and consequences of the mass exodus of young people from their homeland, asking the questions:

Can we be happy if we look only at our own path? And if we remain inert, can we change anything? Is the easiest and simplest solution to leave somewhere abroad in search of a better place to live, or is leaving a lifelong pain and an unfilled void that remains forever?

Are these cries from the stage the last attempts to awaken us from lethargy, but also from illusion, and to make us think — how far have we come, and is it not high time to take responsibility for the consequence called the “white plague”?

The action of the performance takes place in Ohrid and follows the life intersections of two couples in relation to emigration from Macedonia — one separated about 20 years ago, and the other experiencing separation now, for the same reasons.
