"Influencers" is a documentary performance by director Neda Sokolovska ("Spotted in Blagoevgrad"), which explores the influence of social media on contemporary people. A playful yet serious experiment that will take you through a sea of real stories and the boundless depths of the internet.

"TikTok, the social network that has taken over the world, is a mirror of our contemporary culture — fragmented, chaotic, and constantly changing. Within a few seconds, users are bombarded with a wide variety of content, from dances and challenges to political commentary and funny sketches. This turns the platform into a digital collage, in which the individual elements often have no connection to one another, creating a sense of relentless chaos. The documentary theater performance 'Influencers' offers some of the funniest and most authentic moments in Bulgarian TikTok, but it also mercilessly examines how this platform is changing our notions of fame, authenticity, and reality. Becoming an influencer today is easier than ever. Anyone with a phone and internet access can claim that title, broadcasting uncensored content to a potentially global audience. Free speech is a cornerstone of democratic society, but we must not overlook the dangers arising from this phenomenon. A large part of influencers are marginal, albeit authentic social figures who try to monetize their popularity. While some approach their role responsibly, others abuse their influence, spreading intellectually content with negative moral value that normalizes social pathologies and sets a new code of communication between people." – Neda Sokolovska – director
