Carnival of Fire / Premiere

“Carnival of Fire” is a street spectacle of attraction that combines theatre, circus practices, visual arts, and the living impact of fire.

The project is aimed at creating a new cultural product for a broad audience in several settlements in the Blagoevgrad region. The main idea is for the Nikola Vaptsarov Drama Theatre – Blagoevgrad to step beyond the limits of the conventional stage and meet its audience in an urban setting, turning streets and squares into open-air stages.

Created in partnership with Theatre of Fire and Shadows – FIRETER, the performance brings together professional artists and participants from the Theatre School at the Nikola Vaptsarov Drama Theatre – Blagoevgrad in a colourful stage experience, where fire manipulation, stilts, juggling, acrobatics, and theatrical action become a shared celebration.

The director of the performance is Plamen Ivanov – an artist, teacher, and co-founder of FIRETER, with many years of experience in contemporary street and circus arts. The process also includes Viktor Teofilov – an artist and trainer in juggling, dance, and fire arts.

“Carnival of Fire” is the result of a workshop-laboratory in street spectacle art, in which actors and young participants explore the possibilities of the body, rhythm, fire, and collective play.

The event will be held with free admission.
